ROOF STYLES /// There are three roof styles to choose from for your carport or metal building. Regular roof styles include a 6" roof overhang on the front and back. A-Frame roof styles have a 6" roof overhang on all four eaves. In all cases, your frame will be 1 foot shorter than the roof length selected online. A vertical roof may not include the 6" overhang on the front and back; however, if this is a concern, please contact a Carport.com sales representative to place your order. Check Carport FAQs for information on the roof pitch. The following photos should provide you with additional information on each carport roof style:
CERTIFIED /// You may need to obtain a permit prior to installation. If you require a permit, you must specify a Certified structure. Engineering drawings are available on all regular sized certified buildings at no additional cost for standard plans for your state. Elephant Structures cannot be held responsible for changes in your specific county standards so please verify the standards with your local county inspector.
WIND RATINGS /// Certified buildings have a minimum wind rating starting at 80 mph and a snow rating starting at 20 lbs/sq ft. Certified buildings may be rated up to 150 mph wind and 60PSF; please contact us in advance for your specfic requirements.
12 GAUGE UPGRADE /// The 12 gauge galvanized steel frame option for your carport or metal garage, which is 30% thicker, includes an additional warranty.
VERTICAL ORIENTATION /// Vertical roofing is recommended on structures longer than 36 feet.
J-TRIM /// Additional trim that eliminates sharp edges.
ANCHORS /// Auger Anchors, also referred to as mobile home anchors, are best for ground installation and may be required in your region. Standard anchors are provided with your free installation, including standard rebar pin or concrete anchors. If you select Auger Anchors, we will include a minimum of four additional anchors with your order for added stability.
SELF-INSTALL /// All of our buildings include free delivery and free installation! However, if you are interested in having your structure delivered as a kit, contact us for details and rush shipment in your area. ** Note, each purchase comes with an easy to follow installation manual for construction instructions. Kits can be installed with simple tools, but some configurations may require cutting and drilling during installation.
BRACING /// Uncertified units include knee bracing on four corner legs. Certified units include bracing on every leg for added support. If you purchase an uncertitied unit, you may purchase additional bracing.
CONNECTION FEE /// If you are planning to purchase more than one carport and wish to connect them, a connection fee may be required.
