Regular
Curved-eave arched roof · horizontal panels
The factory-standard roof: rounded eaves and panels that run front to back. Economical cover when you want shade and rain protection without a gable peak.
Metal buildings
A metal garage is a fully enclosed American-steel building with walls and a garage door, built to the size, roof, doors, and colors you choose. Get a local price from your ZIP, then design every option in the builder. Delivery and professional installation are free on a level site.
Three roofs: Regular (good), A-frame (better), and Vertical (best) — required when length runs past 36 feet. Start enclosed; add walk-ins, extra roll-ups, and windows on any wall. Horizontal siding is the factory look; vertical siding is the upgrade. Roof and walls pick from twelve colors independently.
Frames are 14-gauge galvanized American steel (12-gauge for heavier snow or wind) with 29-gauge sheeting, installation available in most states. A deposit holds the order; the balance is due at delivery. Kits are available if you prefer to assemble.

Roof styles
Every garage you design starts with a roof. These are the same three choices in the builder.
Curved-eave arched roof · horizontal panels
The factory-standard roof: rounded eaves and panels that run front to back. Economical cover when you want shade and rain protection without a gable peak.
Boxed-eave gable · horizontal panels
A classic peaked roof with boxed eaves. Horizontal panels stay the factory look; the A-frame sheds water better than a Regular arch.
A-frame boxed-eave · vertical panels
The same A-frame shape with panels that run peak to eave. Rain and snow travel off the roof instead of across seams — the most durable roof we sell. Required in the designer when length is over 36 feet.
Designer rule: if length is greater than 36 feet, Vertical is required so the roof can shed water on a long run.
Walls and siding
A garage starts enclosed. You can still mix a gable, a second roll-up, or an open lean-to bay in the designer.
Leave a side or end open only if you want a hybrid carport bay. Most garages stay fully enclosed.
Sheeting on the upper half of each side. Shade and wind break up high while the lower opening stays clear.
Sheeting on the lower half. Blocks splash, debris, and low wind while the top stays open for light and air.
Full-height walls plus a roll-up and walk-in. Dual doors on the front, or a side-entry layout, are everyday designer choices.
Panels run front to back, matching a Regular or A-frame horizontal roof. This is the default orientation in the factory and the lowest-cost wall look.
Panels run bottom to top. Pair with a Vertical roof for a continuous “stripes down” building, or mix it on walls only. Vertical sheeting sheds water at the laps instead of across them.
The front and back are independent of the sides. Leave them open for drive-through, add a gable (peak filled, opening below), or close them fully and put a roll-up on the front.
Walk-in doors, roll-up garage doors, and windows go on enclosed sides and ends. Adding a door in the designer will close that wall automatically so the opening has something to sit in.
Colors
Pick a roof color and a wall color independently in the designer. Names vary slightly by plant (for example Patriot Red vs. Barn Red) — the swatch is the same twelve codes. Request color samples if you want chips in hand.

Why a garage
Size the width and door package to the vehicles that live inside — not a generic “two-car” label.
Enclosed walls, a walk-in, and extra eave height turn parking into a shop. See workshops if the work is the point.
Lock tools, mowers, and household overflow behind steel walls instead of an open carport.
Roll-ups go on any wall — including both ends — so the driveway does not dictate the floor plan.
Many counties want engineered drawings before a garage permit. Certification is available when you order.
Installed on a level pad is the default. Kits ship if you assemble or the ground is not level enough for our crew.

From quote to pad
A metal garage is a fully enclosed American-steel building with a roof, walls, and typically a roll-up or walk-in door. Carport.com builds them to the width, length, height, roof style, doors, windows, and colors you choose — from a one-car unit to three-car and wider workshops.
A carport is an open steel cover. A garage adds enclosed walls and a door so vehicles and equipment stay locked and weather-tight year-round. Both can use Regular, A-frame (boxed-eave), or Vertical roofs. You can start from a carport and enclose it, or order a garage from the start.
Three. Regular uses horizontal panels from front to back with rounded corners. A-frame (boxed-eave) keeps horizontal panels but forms a gable roof. Vertical is a boxed-eave roof with vertical panels — the most durable option. Buildings longer than 36 feet require Vertical in the designer.
The standard frame is 14-gauge American steel. A 12-gauge frame is available as an upgrade for heavier snow or wind loads. Roof and wall sheeting is 29-gauge. Roofs use a 3/12 pitch. Vehicle clearance is the leg height, not the peak of the roof.
